MADRID: Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane will take his squad to Sevilla in La Liga this weekend a day after insisting he has no plans to resign after a stumbling block.
Madrid have only won once in La Liga since October and lost to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League early on Wednesday morning and must beat Borussia Moenchengladbach next week to advance.
Real drew against Villarreal, losing to subordinate Alaves and being beaten by Valencia since their last victory, leaving the defending champions in fourth place, seven points behind leaders Real Sociedad.
“I have the strength needed to change the situation and I will do anything, just like the players,” Zidane said after the defeat in Ukraine.
“We have to step up and think about the next match. We are going through a bad period, there is nothing to do but think about the next match and go through it.
“In difficult situations, you have to show real character,” he said.
Local newspapers have linked former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as well as former Madrid striker Raul to the post.
