LONDON: Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has agreed to extend his contract until the end of the season, the Premier League club (EPL) said today.
The Belgian international had previously said he would leave Spurs on June 30. Goalkeeper Michel Vorm also signed an extension.
Some players on loan, including Danny Rose, will also remain at their respective clubs.
“We can confirm that defender Jan Vertonghen and goalkeeper Michel Vorm have agreed to extend the contract until the end of the 2019/20 season,” Tottenham said in a statement.
“The two-player contract will expire at the end of this month. By extension it means they can play for us throughout the rest of the EPL this season.”
