MANCHESTER: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be given another chance to continue navigating Manchester United after being told his place is still safe for now.
United embarrassed Liverpool in last week’s action which saw the Reds thrash them 5-0 in a match at Old Trafford.
The defeat saw United collect just 14 points from nine games and seem to have dropped out of the English Premier League (EPL) title race this season.
United board members held talks and speculation arose about Solskjaer’s future after Antonio Conte was said to be ready to replace him at Old Trafford.
But Athletic report that Solskjaer is still alive and will continue to manage the team for the action against Tottenham on Saturday.
Sources from Old Trafford declined to comment but it is understood United board members are still supporting and at the same time giving Solskjaer a chance to resurrect the team.
Solskjaer was present at Carrington yesterday, however the player was given a day off and he will conduct a training session today in preparation for the match in North London.
Only a victory could ‘extend’ Solskjaer’s time at United, not to mention some reports that the majority of players no longer believe him.
