LONDON: Wayne Rooney described Mohamed Salah’s performance with Liverpool as similar to what Cristiano Ronaldo did for Manchester United.
Rooney, a player developed from Everton academy has been with Ronaldo for five years at Old Trafford.
Rooney sees Salah play the same role as Ronaldo at Anfield, describing the Egyptian player as a rival fortress.
He told the Times: “Mo Salah started doing what Ronaldo did for Manchester United.
“Not too much defense, but he is always a threat if you are a defensive midfielder. You worry about his counter-attack.”
Wrong has been a prolific striker since joining Liverpool from Rome in 2017 and winning the Gold Shoes award in his first season appearance.
