LONDON: Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo ‘promised I would always look for more goals’ after adding to his international scoring record.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 115th international goal earlier this morning.
Ronaldo blasted home his 10th hat-trick of his international career while teammate Bruno Fernandes also created a goal as Portugal won 5-0 over Luxembourg.
He is now the first male player in international competition to create 10 hat -tricks for his country.
The Portuguese broke the international scoring record last month previously held by Iranian Ali Daei.
Shortly after returning to Old Trafford earlier this year, Ronaldo scored in the 89th minute against Ireland who were also the 110th goal for Portugal and one above Daei’s record.
The Manchester United striker then got a goal late in the game to complete the comeback and record his 111th goal.
The United star managed to get the 112th goal through a left-footed kick in the 37th minute during the previous friendly match against Qatar.
Via Instagram, Ronaldo wrote: “Another success, another step towards our target, another historic night on defense with our flag!
“Everything becomes easy when we play at home and in front of the fans who are always looking after us from the first minute to the last…
“I promise I’m always looking for more, more and more!”.
