LONDON: Cristiano Ronaldo received the Premier League (EPL) Player of the Month award after returning to Old Trafford.
After making an emotional second appearance with the Red Devils against Newcastle, CR7 blasted home three goals in three appearances in September.
The 36-year-old scored twice in a 4-1 win over Newcastle in early September, as well as in a 2-1 win over West Ham.
CR7 defeated Joao Cancelo, Antonio Rudiger, Allan Saint-Maximin, Ismaila Sarr and Mohamed Salah to win the award.
Supporters voted through the Premier League website with a panel of football experts also helping to find the winner.
It was the fifth time Ronaldo had been awarded Player of the Month when he also won the same title in November and December 2006 as well as January and March 2008.
He equaled Wayne Rooney’s record with Manchester United by winning five times.
