MILAN: Cristiano Ronaldo and Leonardo Bonucci have apologized to Juventus fans for their worst performance of the season after losing for the first time in Serie A to Fiorentina.
The Bianconeri squad had to play with 10 players for most of the match after Juan Cuadrado was sent off and they lost 3-0 in the match in Tuscany, yesterday.
“Juventus’ worst performance of the season. I apologize to the fans, but there is no reason for this defeat,” Bonucci said.
Ronaldo also slammed the ‘unacceptable result’ thus seeing the Portuguese star fail to add to his collection of goals after scoring 12 goals in the league so far.
“Yesterday, we closed the year 2020 which was so special with bad performances and unacceptable results.
“Empty stadiums, COVID protocols, long delayed matches and very tight schedules.
“But this is not an excuse. We know we have to give more than everything to perform better and win consistently.
“We are Juventus and we can not accept other than excellence on the field!
“We hope this short break can help us rise stronger as the season is still long and we believe we can celebrate success again with the supporters.
“Trust us, trust the team as we trust you and we will reciprocate! Fino Alla Fine!”.
