LONDON: Manchester United and Chelsea have secured a place in next season’s Champions League after winning the final of the English Premier League (EPL).
Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard scored in the 71st minute and injury time was enough for United to win 2-0 over Leicester City at King Power Stadium.
The result saw Leicester City miss the chance to grab a place in the Champions League from United and have to play in the Europa League.
Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud emerged as Chelsea heroes when their goal helped Frank Lampard’s side beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
The victory saw Chelsea finish fourth in the Premier League, sharing 66 points with United in third place.
League champions Liverpool also ended the season with a win after beating Newcastle United 3-1 and amassing 99 points overall.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich City are relegated from the Premier League next season after occupying the bottom three positions.
