LONDON: Liverpool plan to make a surprise offer for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, according to reports.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen to rejoin the Polish goal machine whom he once described as the best player he has ever worked with.
They spent four years together at Borussia Dortmund and their stellar performances saw Lewandowski move to Bayern and Klopp tied for Liverpool.
Now, Klopp is desperate to re -work with the 33 -year -old, according to Fichajes.
Roberto Firmino’s lackluster performance in their squad has led the Reds to be said to be targeting the Polish star.
Two main title contenders, Manchester United and Chelsea signed the star striker in the summer with Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku returning to the English Premier League (EPL).
Although still unsuccessful, Manchester City are looking to get Harry Kane and are still linked with a Spurs player or Erling Haaland.
As a result, the pressure seems to be directed at Anfield to make the same move and Lewandowski is said to be in line with their choice.
The Poland international has been linked with a move to the EPL this summer after it was reported he wanted a new challenge.
