LONDON: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has won his first Premier League title of the season, but he may find it difficult to defend his title at the 2020/21 campaign.
Klopp should now turn his attention to the transfer window and look for opportunities to strengthen his squad in an effort to achieve the mission of defending the championship.
However, the main constraint that the Reds may face at the moment is the lack of funds.
The coronavirus pandemic affected the club’s finances which also saw them lose in the competition to sign Chelsea-owned Timo Werner for 50 million pounds.
Liverpool completed the transfer of Dejan Lovren to Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg for 11 million pounds.
Klopp told the media: “A very extraordinary season awaits us all, with a period of four weeks less than usual, so it will be a unique and exciting challenge.
“The right scenario for a football manager when you have 40 players and they are all happy, so you just pick 20 for three weeks, then pick the other 20.
“But it’s not like that. The world is not like this. Honestly I do not want to be part of such a squad.
“These players can only play the football they play because they know they are needed,” Klopp said.
