LIVERPOOL: Jurgen Klopp announced the news Liverpool fans have been waiting for when he confirmed that Virgil van Dijk is fully fit after returning from international duty.
Concerns arose for the Merseyside squad when Van Dijk injured his ankle as the Netherlands thrashed Turkey 6-1 in a 2022 World Cup qualifier.
The center -back was seen in pain after being fouled by a Turkish player in the final moments of the game.
Van Dijk has just returned to action after a long break last season with a knee injury against Everton in October.
The 30 -year -old confirmed he was in good shape after the match, and Klopp repeated the point yesterday.
“With Virgil, it was a worrying moment, you can imagine. I asked him how he was after the match, he said he was in good shape,” Klopp said.
Klopp also informed the fitness status of several players including Takumi Minamino, Roberto Firmino and James Milner, who are on the injury list.
“Taki (Minamino) is already here, he was injured when he was with Japan. Bobby (Firmino) is not fit yet. Millie (Milner), we have to see first,” he said.
