LONDON: Everton completed the transfer of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid yesterday, rediscovering the Colombian midfielder with manager Carlo Ancelotti for the third time.
The Premier League club reportedly paid £ 22 million for the 29-year-old, who is also the 2014 World Cup top scorer.
James’ world-class performance gave him an 80 million euro transfer to Madrid six years ago and he excelled in his first season under Ancelotti near the Spanish capital.
However he failed to get a place in the starting line-up under Zinedine Zidane during his two years there and collapsed in two seasons on loan to Bayern Munich between 2017 and 2019, where he was also with Ancelotti.
James became the second player signed by Everton in the transfer phase after the presence of Brazilian international Allan from Napoli.
And the player believes there will be a bright future with the Toffees even though the club only finished the season in 12th place in the Premier League last season.
