LONDON: Pep Guardiola is facing a dilemma in choosing a player against Newcastle in the English Premier League action, early this Sunday morning when his two players are positive for COVID-19.
The club confirmed Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker and two of his staff tested positive.
They are currently undergoing a period of exile ahead of Boxing Day against Newcastle, which also faces the virus, causing Jamaal Lascelles and Allan Saint-Maximin to be sidelined.
Jesus and Walker were in action when City recorded a stylish 4-1 victory over Arsenal in the League Cup match yesterday.
“Manchester City FC confirmed Gabriel Jesus, Kyle Walker, and two other staff tested positive for COVID-19.
“They are currently undergoing a period of isolation according to the Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.
“Everyone at the club hopes to recover quickly during the Christmas period before returning to work, participating in training and participating in competitions,” according to a statement issued by the club.
