LONDON: Danish defender Andreas Christensen is confident they can block England striker Harry Kane and ‘silence’ Wembley in the Euro 2020 semi -final clash early on Thursday morning.
The defender’s club, Chelsea have a good record against the England number nine and Denmark may be able to get some information from midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who is also Kane’s team-mate at Tottenham.
“We know his quality and everyone knows what needs to be done to block him (Kane).
“Hojbjerg also knows Kane and maybe there’s something that can be shared with the team. All the players have their own habits and we have to take advantage of that,” Christensen said.
Kane, who scored in the round of 16 against Germany and the quarter -final against Ukraine, did present a physical ‘difficulty’ to Denmark.
“He’s so good with his legs and one of the best finishers in football.
“My reaction is more to the words of the heart. He has a physical advantage and it’s hard to deal with him so you can’t get too close to him.
“At the same time, Denmark is not‘ rocked ’by England’s reputation lined up with players from top clubs compared to Danish players playing around Europe.
“We have the quality to play with anyone. As a team, I can’t say that England are better,” he said.
