LONDON: Manchester United will be strengthened by Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani who return to training ahead of the Europa League match against AC Milan tomorrow (early Friday morning).
United and AC Milan were tied 1-1 in the first leg of the group of 16 and a visit to Italy looked more in favor of the hosts who have a supply of goals away.
On Sunday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men travel to Leicester City for the FA Cup quarter -finals in a bid to end the season with a trophy – in addition to Champions League qualification.
The return of the two pillars to the training ground in Carrington is good news for United.
Cavani needs to ‘overcome science’ to face France
Frenchman Pogba last played in a 3-3 draw against Everton on February 6.
Uruguay striker Cavani had to be ruled out against Crystal Palace earlier this month and was not fit for the next three games.
Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek also participated in the training session.
Van de Beek was listed as a substitute during the visit to Chelsea on 28 February but has not played since the last game against West Brom on 14 February.
Meanwhile, United’s goal will also be strengthened by goalkeeper David De Gea who has just completed his quarantine period after returning from Spain to celebrate the birth of his son.
Cavani is expected to start the match at the San Siro with Anthony Martial starting on the bench if he is fit to be sent off.
The Red Devils have only scored four goals in six games since the Uruguay striker was out.
The meeting with Milan will see Cavani clash with his former team-mate, Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has also just recovered from injury and is eager to beat their former club.
