AL-RAYYAN, Qatar: European champions Bayern Munich are eager to make history by beating Tigres of Mexico in the Club World Cup final here.
The victory will complete six titles for the German giants in 12 months.
Bayern have a chance to be the second team after Barcelona in 2009 won all six domestic and international tournaments in a season.
The German giants have already lifted the Bundesliga trophies, the German Cup, the Champions League, the German Super Cup and the UEFA Super Cup last year.
Bayern captain Manuel Neuer insists they are ready to make history as stressed by its operator Hansi Flick.
“We came here to win the championship. It will complete the history of Bayern Munich club success,” Flick said.
After beating African champions Al Ahly 2-0 in the semi-finals, only the Tigres were able to hinder the dreams of Flick’s squad.
The CONCACAF champion beat Brazilian giant Palmeiras 1-0 on the way to the final and also hopes to make history.
“I have never been to a Mexican club so far, but we want more.
“We came here hoping to lift the trophy and now that it is approaching, we are very excited to achieve our dream,” said Tigres striker Carlos Gonzalez.
